Formally commissioned on April 4, 2001, National Information and Communications Initiative Committee(NICI) is designated to accomplish the following missions:
　(1) to accelerate the development of IT industry, e-Commerce and related business,
　(2) to improve the efficiency of government services,
　(3) to promote the Internet usage and related applications, and
　(4) to enhance the competitiveness of Taiwan IT industry.
